At the Meidling Girls’ and Boys’ Day

The Meidling district of Vienna was given oven entirely to training and careers on 9 and 10 November.

The Meidling Girls’ and Boys’ Day was once again a total success this year: more than 400 pupils in year 10 at grammar schools and senior schools in the 12th District had the chance to learn about a wide range of industries, careers and related topics at first hand, in a playful and interactive way.

At the Kapsch stand, the pupils even got an idea of the sorts of tasks that await them in a technical career. For example, they were given an insight into the operation and inner workings of a computer. The event also gave youngsters the chance to try things out for themselves: a variety of tools and devices were used to bend wires and solder a range of different materials. With much skill the committed youngsters created a game or patience or a running light. They were supported in this by budding professionals – the apprentices of the Kapsch Group, who also told the young visitors about apprenticeships at Kapsch as well as their experiences and activities.
